Good news. Sweethacks is back up (almost) and didn't lose the info regarding who won the xbox360. Hopefully in the next week all the information will be restored and we can find out who the winner is.

This week I have found 3 different blogs that I have partipated in contests that are down and don't appear to be coming back online.
Johncow.com - Some sort of lawsuit and copyright issue? It is now redirecting to johnchow.com
sweethacks.com - The day of the xbox 360 contest announcement it stops running. Sucky.
taxrefunds.wordpress.com - No clue what they did, but they pissed off wordpress.
Johncow promised before his site went down that he would honor any contests. No clue on the other two.
Sweethacks had a competition that ended yesterday. Unfortunately their site has been down since yesterday. This has happened once before to them as well, and they lost everything and had to start over.
This is the interesting part of online blog contests. There is no accountability and all too often the winner isn't named or the prize isn't delivered or a contestant isn't properly counted. Not saying sweethacks is down intentionally, but rather that the flaws in the current contest methodology lead to many less than desirable outcomes for all parties.
Lets hope it gets worked out and I win the 360!
